HTC Desire : An Impressive Phone
The sleek HTC Desire is very close, in most ways, to the already released Google Nexus One. It weighs in at a very standard 135g and measures 119 x 60 x 11.9, again, quite a standard measurement. There is a big variety of features packed inside the handset. The HTC Desire is a bit larger than the Nexus One, due to the addition of a 3.7 AMOLED screen. It still retains the pleasing curved shape of the Nexus One. By replacing the trackball found beneath the scream of the Nexus One, the HTC Desire offers a more responsive product with better optical capabilities. The HTC Desire comes with a high quality 5 mega pixel camera built into it, which is supported by auto focus and an LED flash. The new flash function means that pictures taken in low lighting conditions still look great. The camera can capture video footage at a resolution of 800 x 400, and id perfect for making videos on the move. The built in memory (512 MB) is not, unfortunately, able to hold a great deal of data, however, there is a micro SD card slot which allows you to expand the memory to 16 GB. The addition of a very powerful 1Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor has made the HTC Desire very user friendly. The biggest appeal, though, of HTC’s new product, is its handset that incorporates a Sense user interface with an Android 2.1 OS. The neat and sharp display of the HTC Desire offers some of the best navigation between menus of all handsets currently available on the market. Features of the Sense system include an improved calender widget which offers the user an agenda and not just a view of the present month. If you scroll your finger across the bottom of the screen while in an app, new elements of that app will open. Navigation is very easy as this principle is incorporated into messaging, contacts, screen music, etc. You can even change music tracks, due to improvement in the media player facility, by dragging your finger across the bottom of the Desire. A very deep and natural black color and a good responsiveness are features of the 3.7” screen which does a great job with movie playback. The new smartphone, the HTC desire, is one of very few handsets that incorporate great looks, swift performance and a wide array of features. It is, without question, one of the best smartphones to come onto the market in 2010.
