Rumored Verizon iPhone release date true?
A Verizon iPhone release date has been long rumored and hoped for by cell users not on the AT and T network. In the Wall Street Journal yesterday, it sounded like production of a Verizon iPhone with a release date might be a reality. According to the Wall Street Journal article, a Verizon iPhone release date could be as early as September or October. Some market watchers are saying that the iPhone Verizon release date is a rumor that simply isn’t supported. Are these rumors true? Should you go get payday loans to pay for this Verizon iPhone?
Network compatibility determines Verizon iPhone release date
“Sources close to Verizon” are quoted as saying that the Verizon iPhone release date will be as early as fall this year. A thinner, faster iPhone is also rumored to be in the works. Both of these rumors are predicated on the idea that Apple is working on a CDMA wireless network chip for the iPhone.
Qualcomm has confirmed that they are designing a CDMA chip for Apple, but it would be very difficult to launch the chip in 2010. No amount of easy cash loans can speed up the manufacturing process for a chip that has been in development for years. If Qualcomm really is manufacturing the Apple CDMA chip, the iPhone would need to be re manufactured to work with the new chip.
2011 is target date for Verizon iPhone release
Yes, there are technology issues with a Verizon iPhone. On top of this, though, there is also the fact that even the Wall Street Journal article quotes that Apple “appears to be” working on a Verizon-compatible iPhone. Apple and Qualcomm have made it no secret that they are working on a CDMA or WCDMA chip.
Yes, Apple “appears to be working on” an iPhone that is compatible with Verizon, but that does not mean they will release it this year. The best guess of most industry analysts and stock analysts is that the Verizon iPhone release date will most likely be sometime in 2011, depending on the type of chip they choose to use.
